Vangelis Rinas was born in the island of Samos in 1966. He grew up in the islands of Ikaria. His first tutor in Painting was Vassilis Korkovelos. He studied at the Athens School of Fine Arts (1986-1991) under Professors Dimosthenis Kokkinides (Painting) and Thanassis Exarchopoulos (Engraving).
He lives and works in Athens, New York and China
