Tzeni Argyriou (Kavala, 1977) is a choreographer and media artist. She graduated from the State School of Dance in Athens. She continued her studies in New York took on a scholar-ship from the Onassis Foundation, where she collaborated with choreographers such as Chamecki Lerner, Maria Hassabi, Yin Mei, Amanda Loulaki, Nina Winthrop. Since 2003 she is a founding member of amorphy.org, which supports the creation of multidisciplinary art forms. While at the beginning of her career she used dance as a means of expression, she quickly adopted the use of new media, transforming her works into hybrid mixed media crea-tions like performances and installations. Over the last decade, she has created and curated numerous projects such as Untitled, a soundtrack to the Fast Forward Festival 2 «X-Apartments» in 2015 (Production of the Onassis Cultural Centre), Memorandum, 2013-14 (co-procuction of Théâtre des Bernardines, O Espaço do Tempo, tanzhaus nrw and Marseilles-Provans presented at the 2014 Athens Festival, European Maritime Capital of Culture 2013, Temps D’Images Festival Düsseldorf, Germany 2014), Memoria Obscura, 2011-12 (Grevena Municipal Theater, DI.PE.THE. Kavala, IETM Athens 2013), Pleas(e)nter, 2011 (Kunstkapel Museum, Amsterdam), Dr. Maybe Darling, 2010 (Benaki Museum in Athens and the Digital Art Festival Sofia).
